MAY 2005 NEWSLETTER

The May Newsletter was our first full page spread!  The professionalism from not only the Equine Journal, but also from our very own Lana Sibley who single-handedly puts together this newsletter, makes for an amazing display.

In October of 2004, a call went out on a Quarter Pony enthusiast email list: “It’s time to decide… is the Quarter Pony going to be a viable breed?” Although there were several registries for the Quarter Pony, there was no concentrated, nation and worldwide movement to generate grown and viability. A great deal of discussion and interest ensued and a seed was planted. A group of twenty enthusiasts formed the new Quarter Pony Association; an organization dedicated to promoting Quarter Ponies and supporting breeders, owners and enthusiasts.

QPA MISSION STATEMENT

As a part of this movement, we have affiliated with The Equine Journal and will have our news, events and calendar here every month for you, the Quarter Pony people, to keep track of how we are growing and working to promote YOUR ponies!

One of the most important facets of the Quarter Pony Association is a board of directors to keep each aspect of our movement moving forward. There are fifteen different committees working to get this movement up and going and to bring the Quarter Pony into the forefront as America’s favorite pony!

We invite you to join us and enjoy the programs and events we are working to bring your way. Each month we will have pictures and stories about Quarter Ponies and how they are moving in the show ring and on the trail.

A membership application is provided here. You can also visit us at www.quarterponyassociation.com to get more information.

The Quarter Pony Association does not register ponies. We have left that to the registry associations and asked them to affiliate with us. To date, the Western Quarter Pony Registry and the new International Quarter Pony Association in Tennessee have affiliated with the QPA. Those two registries chose to merge and are now under the name of the International Quarter Pony Association. The other Quarter Pony registries have been invited to join and reap the benefits of our concerted efforts.
